Online registration for Draft Leagues from January 1 to January 27 (early discount registration) After January 27 to February 18 regular registration fee.
You should REGISTER EARLY as many Leagues fill and registration will close before published end date. To find the proper League for your player to be registered to, use the Age Chart. CLICK HERE.
If League is full, go to Wait List option on menu and provide contact information. Being on Wait List does not guarantee registration. If a League needs additional players, they will be called from the Wait List in order received and offered registration. Registration and payment is required in a limited time and failure to do so will withdraw offer and next player will be called.
Walk Up registration events - A walk up registration will be held January 27th at DICK'S Sporting Goods on Sunland Park Drive from 9AM to 12PM. Registration subject to League availability. A second walk up registration will be held if needed at Cloudview Fields on February 17.
Assessments for Draft Players - The player assessments for Draft League Players, 7U to 12U Leagues, will be held at Cloudview Fields on February 17, 9AM to 12PM. The assessment is for players who are not a member of a team. The ASSESSMENT is NOT A TRYOUT. ALL REGISTERED PLAYERS WILL BE PLACED ON A TEAM. The assessment is to assist the coaches on Draft Night. All players who are not a member of a team should attend the assessment. At the assessment players will hit, field and throw. Players will be graded with a simplistic score of 1, 2 or 3. This is for informational purposes only to coaches on Draft Night. Scores do not affect a player being drafted to a team. Players should attend assessments with a glove. Bats and helmets are optional and will be provided if needed. Players should wear baseball or sweat pants and tee shirt, cleats optional. Assessments only take 15-20 minutes but wait time may increase the time.
A NOTE ABOUT ASSESSMENTS - Coaches from Select League teams (Select is the more competitive, higher skilled program) will also attend the Assessments in search of players to fill out their rosters. Should you agree to have your ballplayer join a Select team we will transfer your registration fee to the team, you may need to make up any difference in fees. You should be careful before joining a Select team and make sure it is a good fit for your child and you. Speak honestly with the coaches about your expectations. Joining a Select team is an agreement between you and that team. SWBL does not involve itself with player-parent-coach relations on Select teams, there are not minimum play times enforced. Please ask for a copy of our Select Team Player/Parent & Team Agreement for further details.
Draft Players may play up one year; eg: a player who is ten years old may play up in 12U (player ages 11 & 12). A player who is 9 may not play up in 12U. Before deciding to have your child play up, please honestly evaluate their abilities and skill level. You will only frustrate your ballplayer by forcing them into a league they are not ready for while reducing their success opportunities. Very few players have the abilities to successfully play up in age. Under no circumstances will a player be allowed to play down in age.
